when the saying goes: forgive but not forget
it doesn't really mean harping on sad memories but instead remembering the lessons learnt from the incident so as not to make the same mistakes.
if you really want to stop thinking of your grievances,
you have to come to terms as to what caused the problems and think of a solution to it.
and to quit indulging in self pity!
if you just try to push it to the back of your brain and not think of it,
you're not solving anything but avoiding the whole matter and when something triggers your memory again, you have to continue with this cycle of grieve.
here's how the cycle of grieve goes:
bitter thoughts - depression - ignore and avoid [when something stops you from avoiding it, the cycle begins again -_-]
